Another well renowned Central American coffee producing nation, Nicaragua hosts a wealth of well-performing varietals such as Bourbon, Catuai and Caturra, in a country battling back against previous political disruptions and natural disasters. The political instability of previous decades greatly disrupted the growth and stability of the coffee industry in the country, however recent years have seen quality improving rapidly with initiatives such as Cup of Excellence helping to lend more definition to Nicaraguan specialty coffee and inspiring producers and farmers to invest in quality.
