April Utility
April Utility Clothing was created as part of the April brand Family, including April Coffee Roasters, April Media & April Utility Clothing.
After years of roasting coffee, Patrik Rolf asked himself what he could do to provide the team with workwear clothing to use in the roastery. It's an environment that requires clothing that is durable and most of all functional. With that in mind, it was also crucial that the design would represent April's aesthetics. Initially, he collaborated with clothing brands, but soon realised there was an opportunity to design and produce their own clothing and be as creative as possible.

April House Coffee
This project is about creating more value for our Partner Farmers by purchasing a larger range of their coffees and at the same time allowing them to define their own price for their coffee.
We work with farmers on a personal level, they decide their prices, they donβt rely on the commercial coffee market or institutions like Fair Trade to tell them what their coffee is worth - they define their value, and we support them 100% in this.
What makes it Sustainable?
Before starting our SP project we purchased a total of 14 x 42kg bags of Coffee from our partner farm VolcΓ‘n Azul in Costa Rica. In the first year of this project, we purchased an additional volume of 100 x 69kg bags.
The 100 bags we have bought is one of the larger lots from Volcan Azul. This means that today we buy a wider range of quality from the farm, not just the micro-lots.
Our SP partners are farmers that we have identified for their excellent effort in producing the highest quality coffee. It's individuals we want to highlight and celebrate their work.
Background Story: This project started after we spent a weekend together with Alejo Castro from VolcΓ‘n Azul. During that time we discussed what value April Coffee Roasters generates to him as a farmer. The conclusion was that a Coffee Roaster that only buys a few small micro-lots doesn't make much of a difference.
That is why we started our SP project. Dedicated to increasing the amount of coffee we buy from the VolcΓ‘n Azul farm. A way for us to show how much we believe in their work and result. The reality is that the only way we as a Coffee Roastery can make a real difference, is to commit to always come back and purchase the coffee for the price the farmer is asking.
Our Partners
We purchase coffee at the price our producers ask for. A price based on the farmers own valuation of the green coffee, taking into consideration the level of work that was invested to produce it. We roast these lots with a medium roast profile, consistently producing a balanced and sweet profile with an impressively high flavour intensity.
We closely work with Fazenda Esperança, Volcan Azul, Pillcocaja & El Socorro.

April x Buaisou
Buaisou, a distinguished Japanese company founded in 2015, has garnered acclaim for its mastery of Indigo Dyeing, a traditional craft deeply rooted in Japanese culture.
As long-time admirers of their craftsmanship, we have forged a fruitful relationship over the years. Through this collaboration, we have had the pleasure of curating and releasing a carefully selected range of items in partnership with Buaisou, including uniquely designed bandanas and intricately crafted coasters, but also t-shirts. These collaborations exemplify our shared commitment to celebrating artistry and heritage through thoughtful design and meticulous craftsmanship.
From Nerd To Pro - A Coffee Journey
Launched via Kickstarter in February of 2022, this book contains lessons and experiences from Patrik Rolf's first decade of work in the coffee industry. You get to follow how and why he started working with coffee, how he learned how to roast coffee, start his own business, and earn a silver medal in the World Brewers Cup.
The book aims to give you the tools and inspiration to start your journey from Nerd to Pro.
April Organic
Organic Coffee is something that we discussed for a long time and until today always opted against for the main reason that the taste quality isnβt as high as the alternative.
There are challenges and question marks around the actual certification process at origin. There is different rules depending on what country you are looking at and there is more then one way to get certified. But based on our increased understanding of farming and trading that comes as a result of the partner farm relationships we have we have decided to explore Organic Coffee further.
There is no doubt in our minds that Organic Coffee should be a part of the future and we believe that investing in making it become a reality holds a lot of value for us and the industry at large.
Currently, we our proud to have 2 outstanding coffees in our lineup, from Ethiopia and Peru.

In 2023, while searching for the perfect posters to adorn the walls of our offices, we decided to take a creative approach and produce our own series.
Collaborating closely with our talented graphic designer, Max Duchardt, we embarked on this artistic project to bring a unique and personal touch to our workspace.
